Chevrolet Express is the full size van. It was launched for the 1996 model year and it was meant to replace GMC Vandura and Chevrolet Van. Since it was launched it reached top of the best selling vans list in the United States. Almost the same van, with different badging is the GMC Savanna. Together with Savanna Chevrolet Express is the second best selling van in the United States and holds 45% of the market. First place on that list hold Ford E-series vans for over 10 years now. Although Chevrolet Express and GMC Savanna are almost the same, Chevrolet Express outsells GMC Savanna in 3 to 1 ratio.
Although van exteriors are not so well designed as the car ones, 2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 designers gave their best to make this vehicle as stylish as possible for a transport van. It has rounded corners, high-mounted taillights and fancy wheels we can usually see on pick up trucks. The best feature of the Chevrolet Express design is its grille, recognizable Chevy trademark grille we can usually see on its pick up trucks, gives this van almost luxurious look. There are number of different options for doors, sliding or not, with or without windows etc.
2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 interior in its most basic form has only two seats. There are passenger versions that have up to 12 seats and also a 5 seater with large cargo area. Most luxurious of all is the Chevrolet Express Passenger which offers power windows, carpet, air conditioning in front and back part of the vehicle and Bluetooth. It also offers vinyl upholstery and flooring, dual shock airbags in the front and side air bags in first three rows of a Passenger version.
Regular Chevrolet Express 3500 comes with V6 engine, while Passenger version can come with V8. There are also additional engines to choose for all Chevrolet Express vans, and with Express 3500 you can choose between heavy duty 4,3 liter V6, 4,8 liter, 5,3 liter, 6,0 liter and 6,6 liter V8. For 3500 version there is also a 6,6 liter Duramax diesel option. Best bet would be to hold on to 4,3 liter V6 engine which delivers 195 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque. Its fuel efficiency goes from 15 in the city conditions to 20 on the highway by EPA estimates.
