After three years of delay, seventh generation (C7) Chevrolet Corvette has finally arrived in 2014. Chevy’s ultimate sports car and „2014 North American car of the year“ looks better than ever and threatens to dominate the sports car market just like it dominates the asphalt.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe comes in six trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, Z51 1LT, Z51 2LT and the ultimate Z51 3LT model. They are all powered by a monster of a 6.2L V8 DI engine that develops up to 460 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. They are all RWD and come with a 7-speed manual transmision for best possible performance. There is also an optional 6-speed paddle shift automatic transmission which allows clutchless manual gear changing simply by tapping the steering-wheel mounted paddles.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray Exterior
Where to even start with Corvette’s exterior. It is light, low and as aerodynamic as it can be and all for the best possible performance. The advanced ventilation systems help air flow from front to the back while cooling critical components of beastly powertrain in the process. Its trademark logo dominates the front of the carbon hood and creates intimidating look together with laid back headlights that use Bi-Xenon HID technology. Corvette’s trademark, round taillights are now a bit more angular but look even better that way.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray Interior
2014 Corvette Stingray has a luxurious feel all over, but especially on the inside. Grade A leather, carbon and aluminum upholstery and details leave you speechless. Two 8-inch HD color touch-screens (one in the center console and one in the instrument cluster) are diversifying Corvette from rest of the competitors.
A smaller, race-inspired steering wheel enhances grip and driving feel. Chevrolet MyLink, Bose premium 9-speaker or advanced 10-speaker system, driver and passenger 8-way seat adjusters and many more features also make an apearance on the new Corvette. Driver and passenger frontal and side-impact air bags, active handling stability control, rear vision camera and OnStar system among other features, greatly improve safety.
Every trim level has an 18.5 gallon fuel tank and with it Stingray can go as far as 17 mpg in a city and 29 mpg on a highway which is excellent for a vehicle that is supposed to be made for a high-speed highway driving.
Corvette Stingray price
Prices are not popular by a long shot, but you just can’t put a price on sheer class and come away with full pockets. Starting at $53,000 for a stock 1LS trim level and ending at $65,005 for a stock Z51 3LT trim or even more if you are considering special upgrades and optional packages, they may be steep but are a fair deal at the end of the day.
2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe did not dissapoint us, on the contrary, it plain and simply mesmerized ud with its sublime design and powerful technical caracteristics. One thing is for certain, seventh generation of Corvettes couldn’t have wished for a better start.
