As seventh generation entered the market in the shape of a 2014 year model, it is only natural to assume that 2015 will bring, not only a carryover, but an entirely new model. That will be a 2015 Corvette Z06, Chevy’s supercar.
Review of Chevy Corvette Z06
The 2015 Corvette Stingray will be powered by LT4 supercharged 6.2L aluminum V8 engine that develops at least 625 hp and 635 lb-ft of torque. Transmission options will include a standard 7-speed manual or an all-new track-certified 8-speed paddle-shift automatic. Better aerodynamics and air flow will reduce the drag and, effectively give more downforce to the Z06 for better handling and cornering at high speeds.
Z06 will be adorned with more carbon fiber pieces which is only fitting for a supercar. Lower body fascia will have wide octagonal chrome shapes, wider tires come with wider fenders and larger vents provide even better air flow. Rear end will have a bigger spoiler, designed for better grip and aerodynamics, while angular tail-lights will remain as they are. There is one new feat when it comes to Corvette’s chassis. It now has a removable carbon-fiber roof panel which allow the owners to enjoy the open roof of a convertible.
What is the interior of this Corvette?
The Corvette Z06 interior is driver-centered with unique color schemes that, as well as a unique, flat-bottom steering wheel give you a new experience. There are two seat choices: GT seat for all-around support and comfort and sport seat with better support. All surfaces are covered in luxurious materials, including Napa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and sueded microfiber. Technical features will remain and dual 8-inch HD color touch-screens still dominate Corvette’s interior.
Dashboard, together with gauges will be changed for optimal sport performance. One of the most interesting features of a new Z06 is Performance Data Recorder. It allows the driver to record and share his driving experience using windshield-mounted HD camera module, as well as a performance processor, internal accelerometers and GPS system. It comes in Track, Sport, Touring and Performance modes that allow different types of data to be analyzed.
With the increase in power comes the increase in fuel consumption, it is a supercar, isn’t it?! 17/29 mpg ratio of regular manual shifting model will not be possible for a Z06, but it will not matter to those that decide they have to have this piece of art.
2015 Corvette Z06 price
Z06 will cost more than fully upgraded Stingray Coupe models, that’s for sure. Although, words from Chevrolet are saying it will not be more expensive than its predecessor. That means, you’ll have to pay around $85,000 for a base Z06 model.
It might look like an exaggerating or as a completely unnecessary model but 2015 Corvette Z06 is an ultimate sports supercar and the World would simply be duller without them.
